RENEW/CANCEL NEWS: How To Get Away With Murder (ABC)

In the least shocking news of the last few months, How to Get Away with Murder has been renewed if we listen to what lying post show promos say.  Thanks for reading.

Chris Colley's TV Morsels Episode 10: The Hakeem Lyon Lack Of Self-Awareness Morsel Of The Week

If you've seen the FOX TV show, Empire (Wednesdays at 9pm ET), you're obviously aware of Hakeem Lyon.  Hakeem says and does things that most people don't.  He's not necessarily a bad person, he just has a complete lack of self-awareness regarding how his actions affect others around him.  Any time I see something like this, I'll post it...as long as FOX doesn't block the videos.  Thanks for reading.

TV Ratings Notes For Thursday, February 12, 2015: The Slap (NBC), Allegiance (NBC)

A show with an exceedingly dumb promo and name premiered, and the second episode of Allegiance aired last night.  Get your guillotines out, because neither of these shows are going to make it.  The real question for Allegiance is how many episodes it will get before the big yank.  The over/under is currently set at 5, but I'm not sure it will last that long.  What's even worse is that The Blacklist had a major dip last night.  This whole breaking out the new Thursday nights idea just ain't really happ'nin'.  The numbers are supplied by TV by the Numbers, as I'm a bit too lazy this morning to check the ones I receive.  Thanks for reading.

The Slap (NBC, Thursdays at 8pm ET)

5.50 million Overall Viewers
1.1/4 in the 18-49 Demo

I have zero interest in this show, so I don't really have any comments here.

Allegiance (NBC, Thursdays at 10pm ET)

3.60 million Overall Viewers
0.7/2 in the 18-49 Demo

I guess the good news for the show is that it still beat The Americans in the ratings...lol.

TV Ratings Notes For Thursday, February 5, 2015: Allegiance (NBC), The Blacklist (NBC), Backstrom (FOX)

The Americans (FX, Wednesdays at 10pm ET) "knock off", Allegiance, premiered last night, The Blacklist moved to a new time slot, and Backstrom is soon to be demoted back to traffic duty.  Let's see how they all did.

Allegiance (NBC, Thursdays at 10pm ET)

5.327 million Overall Viewers (first half hour)
1.1/4 in the 18-49 Demo

4.524 million Overall Viewers (second half hour)
1.0/3 in the 18-49 Demo

If one thing is sure, it's that old people didn't like this show.  It lost over 800k viewers outside of the 18-49 demo from the first to second half hour.  NBC, here's a note for you.  When making "clones/knock-offs" of other shows, make sure they actually are successful in the ratings first.  The show's apparent inspiration (the critical darling The Americans) has never had good ratings in its entire run, and this week's episode of that show only scored a 0.3 in the 18-49 demo.  I'll be watching Allegiance later today, and if it deserves an Honest Promo, I'll give it one (meaning I have to want to watch episode 2).

The Blacklist (NBC, Thursdays at 9pm ET)

10.039 million Overall Viewers (first half hour)
2.4/7 in the 18-49 Demo

9.857 million Overall Viewers (second half hour)
2.3/7 in the 18-49 Demo

It's a good thing for NBC that The Blacklist has already been known to hold its own without a lead in.  I would have been very upset if the show's ratings tanked in its new nonsensical time slot.

Backstrom (FOX, Thursdays at 9pm ET)

3.942 million Overall Viewers (first half hour)
1.1/3 in the 18-49 Demo

3.326 million Overall Viewers (second half hour)
0.9/3 in the 18-49 Demo

Backstrom is in an atrocious time slot.  I held out hope that its DVR numbers could help its poor performance in L+SD ratings, but that hope is now gone.  I'm officially calling that it's back to traffic duty for Detective Backstrom, and no one wants to see a show about that.  Thanks for reading.
