TV Ratings Note For Monday, January 13, 2014: Intelligence (CBS)

Intelligence (CBS, Mondays at 10pm ET)

6.11 million Overall Viewers
1.1/3 in the 18-49 Demo

Well, that was exactly the kind of disaster CBS was hoping for when Intelligence premiered in its real time slot...not.  Thanks for reading.

RENEW/CANCEL NEWS: The Assets (ABC), The Newsroom (HBO)

ABC unceremoniously yanked the poorly performing, The Assets, after just two episodes, despite only eight being in its whole run.  Maybe they'll burn it off on Saturdays sometime in May.  When a miniseries gets yanked like that, it must mean it will eventually really suck.  I guess I'll let you know in May (if they air it).

The Newsroom has also been canceled, but will have a final third season.  We could always just boycott starting right now.  Nah, I'll watch it, since I am an Associate Producer of the show (every subscriber of HBO is an Associate Producer--old industry joke--due to your subscriber fees paying for their programming).  Thanks for reading.

TV Premiere Ratings Notes For Tuesday, January 7, 2014: Intelligence (CBS), Killer Women (ABC)

A couple of new shows premiered last night.  Let's see how they did.  Numbers were gotten via TV by the Numbers.

Intelligence (CBS, Mondays at 10pm ET)

16.59 million Overall Viewers
2.4/6 in the 18-49 Demo

Last night, CBS gave a special preview of Intelligence, after their high rated show NCIS.  It had a modest drop off from its lead in, and a whole lot of old people watched it.  It even beat Person of Interest, a show it appears to have some commonality with.  CBS viewers will never stop confusing me, but that's life.  We'll see how it does behind younger skewing comedy in its real start next week.  CBS would probably be extremely happy if the show does anything remotely close to these numbers next Monday.  It won't.

Killer Women (ABC, Tuesdays at 10pm ET)

3.87 million Overall Viewers
0.9/2 in the 18-49 Demo

Here's the potential audience's reaction to Killer Women:

Yeah...no.

ABC's terrible show names and 2014 woes continue, as their 10pm ratings, throughout most of the week, just aren't getting it done.  Thanks for reading.

TV Premiere Ratings Notes For Thursday, January 2, 2014: Community (NBC), The Crazy Ones (CBS), Sean Saves The World (NBC), The Michael J. Fox Show (NBC), Elementary (CBS), Parenthood (NBC), The Assets (ABC)

I'm going to be lazy and steal the numbers from TV by the Numbers today, just to get this over with.  There isn't much to say, other than that just about everyone's numbers for their first show back from the holidays were pretty damn bad.

Community (NBC, Thursdays at 8pm ET)

3.74 million Overall Viewers (8pm episode)
1.3/4 in the 18-49 Demo

3.03 million Overall Viewers (8:30pm episode)
1.2/3 in the 18-49 Demo

Community fans, you can thank NBC for this lackluster start.  All they needed to do was put Community and Parks and Recreation on Fridays at 8pm and 8:30pm, and you would see another season for each show.  Instead, they put them right back where they were nearly failing, and guess what?  They're still failing.  For the last two seasons, I have told Community fans not to fear one bit, they would be coming back, despite everyone else thinking they'd get canceled.  Well, Community fans, it's now time to worry, because this is probably it.

The Crazy Ones (CBS, Thursdays at 9pm ET)

8.24 million Overall Viewers
2.0/5 in the 18-49 Demo

After the huge Fall start of this show, CBS has to be scratching their heads about why this show is now officially on the bubble.  With ratings like these, it looks like I jumped ship at the proper time...right at the beginning.

Sean Saves the World (NBC, Thursdays at 9pm ET)

2.77 million Overall Viewers
0.8/2 in the 18-49 Demo

There were some outright hilarious moments in this episode, and the show is still outright dead.

The Michael J. Fox Show (NBC, Thursdays at 9:30pm ET)

2.52 million Overall Viewers
0.8/2 in the 18-49 Demo

Oh, is this still on?

Elementary (CBS, Thursdays at 10pm ET)

8.92 million Overall Viewers
1.8/5 in the 18-49 Demo

This show is consistently one of the best performers in the DVR ratings.  This is CBS, people, so you're putting too much faith in them to not be stupid over this show's ratings.  I think it will get another season, but these numbers are terrifying for such a great show.

Parenthood (NBC, Thursdays at 10pm ET)

3.99 million Overall Viewers
1.3/3 in the 18-49 Demo

Can you say, "final season"?

The Assets (ABC, Thursdays at 10pm ET)

3.78 million Overall Viewers
0.7/2 in the 18-49 Demo

I didn't even know this show was on until Tuesday.  I don't remember anything about why this show is here.  I recorded it, but have no idea what it's about other than like spies or something.  So, 0.7 can't come as a shock to anyone.  That might even be higher than they should have expected, with such an invisible show.  Thanks for reading.
