TV Ratings Notes For Tuesday, October 9, 2012: Ben and Kate, Go On, The Mindy Project, The New Normal, Vegas

I meant to do these notes last night, but forgot.  Good thing I'm not getting paid to do this, right?  Because there have been so many large adjustments to the early ratings, except when stuff first premieres, I will only be doing my ratings notes after the final ratings have come in late in the afternoon.  I've never seen more than .1 adjustments in the ratings, prior to this season, but there have been across the board adjustments as high as .5 over the past few weeks.  That's unacceptable for accuracy of reporting, so I won't report until the final numbers are in, unless it's about the premiere of a show.  If you'd like to see the full report at TV by the Numbers, you can find it here.

Ben and Kate (FOX, Tuesdays at 8:30pm ET)

3.23 million Overall Viewers
1.5/4 in the 18-49 Demo

This show is doing badly enough that I am confident it is time to put the show on the list you don't want to be on.  The show's just too quirky, and not funny enough, to pull in a real audience.  The fact that it's lost a significant amount of lead in from the really off the wall, Raising Hope, shows that it's very likely a lost cause.  I checked out after episode 2, because I just wasn't feeling this show at all.

Go On (NBC, Tuesdays at 9pm ET)

6.65 million Overall Viewers
2.6/7 in the 18-49 Demo

It rebounded back from its subpar previous week's ratings performance, proving that The Voice actually does have an impact on its numbers.

The Mindy Project (FOX, Tuesdays at 9:30pm ET)

3.55 million Overall Viewers
1.9/5 in the 18-49 Demo

The show's ratings are steady as she goes, and this show is headed on its way to a renewal.

The New Normal (NBC, Tuesdays at 9:30pm ET)

4.86 million Overall Viewers
2.0/5 in the 18-49 Demo

This is a heavy duty rebound from last week, so it's right back in renewal territory.

Vegas (CBS, Tuesdays at 10pm ET)

11.78 million Overall Viewers
2.0/5 in the 18-49 Demo

These ratings aren't really getting it done, but, if it stays right here, it has a better chance of renewal than cancellation.  Thanks for reading.
