Chris Colley Rates The 2012 Fall Pilots Efficiently And Quickly

Last night, I finished watching all of the Pilots, for the new Fall 2012 shows, that are available before their initial hard premieres.  I'll give very brief thoughts on each one, and then you can watch them yourself to decide if you agree with me.  I'll give my initial thoughts, the best thing about each episode, and the worst thing about each episode in one sentence or less.  I'll add to the list, as the new shows officially premiere.

Revolution (NBC, Mondays at 10pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Mediocre
Best Thing About The Show:  Giancarlo Esposito
Worst Thing About The Show:  Believability

Go On (NBC, Tuesdays at 9pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Solid
Best Thing About The Show:  Matthew Perry
Worst Thing About The Show:  Tendency toward sappiness

The New Normal (NBC, Tuesdays at 9:30pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Unfunny (I already quit this show after the first two episodes)
Best Thing About The Show:  I dunno, probably the little girl
Worst Thing About The Show:  Ellen Barkin's Character

Last Resort (ABC, Thursdays at 8pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Strong, but kind of soapy and unbelievable
Best Thing About The Show:  Andre Braugher
Worst Thing About The Show:  The ABC drama style rearing its ugly head

Animal Practice (NBC, Wednesdays at 8pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Stupid
Best Thing About The Show:  Dogless dog owner Mike McClintock from Veep (HBO) brings a dog to the Vet!
Worst Thing About The Show:  Slapstick played deadpan is stupid

Ben and Kate (FOX, Tuesdays at 8:30pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Creepy
Best Thing About The Show:  The 300 point turn (nice job editing the episode, as well, Steve Welch), "Congratulations!"
Worst Thing About The Show:  The show is creepy!

The Mindy Project (FOX, Tuesdays at 9:30pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Surprisingly Decent
Best Thing About The Show:  The scene with Mindy and Ed Helms
Worst Thing About The Show:  The horndog Doctor

Guys with Kids (NBC, Wednesdays at 8:30pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Weak
Best Thing About The Show:  Anthony Anderson, especially "and then dunk me!"
Worst Thing About The Show:  Plays like a bad Saturday Night Live skit/Jimmy Fallon Capital One commercial

Elementary (CBS, Thursdays at 10pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Lots of potential
Best Thing About The Show:  Holmes/Watson dynamic
Worst Thing About The Show:  Holmes dialog spoken too quickly, and Liu too mumbly in her lines

Vegas (CBS, Tuesdays at 10pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Fascinating
Best Thing About The Show:  The production value
Worst Thing About The Show:  There's a lot of botched geographical errors, based on the era of Vegas they are presenting, from what I could tell

Partners (CBS, Mondays at 8:30pm ET)

Initial ThoughtsTolerable
Best Thing About The Show:  There is some excellent comedic timing on display here
Worst Thing About The Show:  It's hard to like Louis, since he's so self absorbed

666 Park Avenue (ABC, Sundays at 10pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Well worth a watch
Best Thing About The Show:  The opening scene
Worst Thing About The Show:  This has a truly awful and polarizing title.  I will let ABC have my idea of 36 Park Avenue.  You're welcome.

The Neighbors (ABC, Wednesdays at 8:30pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Weird
Best Thing About The Show:  The sports names
Worst Thing About The Show:  It's like watching a train wreck of stupidity and weird

Made in Jersey (CBS, Fridays at 9pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Sorry, couldn't make it past 10 minutes
Best Thing About The Show:  Deleting it from my DVR
Worst Thing About The Show:  Execution

Chicago Fire (NBC, Wednesdays at 9pm ET)

Initial Thoughts:  Not as bad as I expected, but that's really not saying much
Best Thing About The Show:  Lots of action
Worst Thing About The Show:  Everything else

Thanks for reading.
