TV Ratings Notes For Wednesday, March 14, 2012 (Whitney, Are You There, Chelsea?)

Whitney (NBC, 8pm ET)

4.013 million Overall Viewers
1.4/5 in the 18-49 Demo

Well, kids, that's about it for this show, in more ways than one.  There are three episodes left, and these ratings are anemic, now that it is having to face a full slate of original programming.  It would be catastrophic for NBC to renew this show.  It's time to find a different "brand" of sitcom.  This style of sitcom does not work on network TV, unless it has significantly more charm than this show exhibited in the parts I have seen.

Are You There, Chelsea? (NBC, 8:30pm ET)

2.903 million Overall Viewers
1.0/3 in the 18-49 Demo

If it weren't for the fact that there are only 3 episodes left, this show would have been yanked before it finished.  It hit the dreaded 1.0, which is the guillotine for network scripted TV.  It will run out to the end, but this show is so ridiculously canceled, it's not even funny (and...it's not even funny, even though I will have watched every episode by the end).  Thanks for reading.
