Last night, against game 7 of The World Series, Grimm managed to score a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demo, along with nearly 6.5 million viewers. I predicted, in other places, earlier this week, that the premiere of Grimm would beat the ratings that Prime Suspect has been getting. What's big about this is that Grimm did it in the Friday night TV wasteland. The other thing that's big about it is that Chuck absolutely bombed as its lead in, only delivering a 1.0 in the 18-49 demo, and a little less than 3.5 million viewers.
This is a perfect opportunity to cancel Prime Suspect, immediately, and put Grimm in Prime Suspect's slot. If Grimm does poorly in that slot, oh well, it's not like Prime Suspect was going to do any better. However, based on the initial, very high (for NBC), ratings Grimm received, on Friday, there's no doubt that NBC needs to get it off that day. NBC, you have received your out. Take it, while you still can. Don't kill both shows, unnecessarily. Thanks for reading.
